Patrick Vincent - Director

Pat co-founded Green Mantle in 1992, which has employed and trained over 120 staff members to date. He holds an MSc in Landscape Ecology Design and Management from Wye College, University of London and a BSc (Hons) in Applied Geology from Oxford-Brookes University. At Schumacher College, Pat studied Deep Ecology: Ecological Wisdom for the Modern Age with Arne Naess, Stephan Harding & Stephanie Mills. Pat lives and works in the Mendip Hills.
Alongside its nature conservation contracting and environmental habitat management and consultancy work, Pat is keen for Green Mantle to be a centre for critical environmental thinking and discourse. His voluntary work in the environmental sector has included roles as Voluntary Warden for the RSPB (Titchwell Marsh & Arne) and the first ‘long-term volunteer’ for The Somerset Wildlife Trust.
Pat is continually working on the development and refinement of new practical nature conservation management techniques, and also studies fields such as truth and non-violence, the Deep Ecological Movement, Gandhian and 'green' philosophies, alternative worldviews and spiritual practices. He hopes these interests and the applicable techniques that come from their study enrich Green Mantle's activities, both as a service provider and an employer.
